Two terrorists neutralised as Army foils infiltration bid along LoC in J&K's Kupwara
PTC News Desk: Two terrorists have been killed by security forces in the ongoing operation in the Keran area of Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The update was shared by the Indian army on X.
According to the Chinar Corps, search operations in the area are currently underway. The operation was launched on November 7 following specific intelligence inputs indicating an infiltration attempt. This development comes three days after an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the remote Chhatru area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district early Wednesday.
Officials said Operation Chhatru was initiated after security agencies received credible information about the presence of terrorists in the region. Acting on the input, joint teams from the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps and the Jammu and Kashmir Police began a search operation, with two to three terrorists suspected to be hiding in the area.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Army Western Commander Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in forward locations along the Jammu-Pathankot sector, according to news agency PTI.
The inspection by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief comes as security forces prepare for winter, ensuring that troops remain fully equipped to tackle threats from terrorists operating in high-altitude and forested regions of the Jammu sector.
