Union minister's daughter harassed, 1 arrested; CM Fadnavis reacts
PTC News Desk: Union minister and BJP leader Raksha Khadse has claimed that her minor daughter was harassed by few boys during the Sant Muktai Yatra in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon. She further filed a complaint against boys.
“Sant Muktai Yatra takes place in the area every year on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Two days ago, my daughter went for the yatra. Some youths harassed her. I went to the police station to lodge a complaint against them.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also reacted to the incident assuring that the stringent action will be taken against the accused.
"There are some officials of a party who have done such a thing. It is a cheap act; the police have registered a case, and some have been arrested. This kind of harassment is wrong; they cannot be forgiven, and strict action will be taken against them," he said.
The police officials have confirmed that 1 accused has been arrested and teams have been deployed to arrest others.
"On February 28, there was a yatra in Muktainagar taluka's Kothali village. Muktainagar City's Aniket Ghui and 6 of his friends were participating in the yatra. In the same yatra, Aniket Ghui and his friends stalked and molested three-four girls. So, we have registered a case of stalking, molestation and also invoked sections of POCSO Act as well as IT Act. One accused has been arrested and three teams have been sent to arrest the remaining accused," the police official said.
