Uzbekistan woman found dead in Bengaluru hotel; foul play suspected
PTC Web Desk: A 37-year-old woman from Uzbekistan was found dead in a room at Jagadish Hotel in Bengaluru's Seshadripuram locality. Zareena had been residing at the hotel for the past four days on a tourist visa.
According to police reports, hotel staff attempted to contact Zareena in her second-floor room around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Upon receiving no response, they used a master key to access the room only to findher dead.
The hotel management immediately informed the police, which registered a case and stated further investigations. Initial investigations suggest the possibility of a foul play, with the authorities suspecting that Zareena may have been smothered. Her body has been shifted to Bowring Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also examined the room, accompanied by a canine unit, searching for any potential evidence that could shed light on the circumstances surrounding Zareena's death. The police are also scrutinising CCTV footage and the hotel's register to determine if anyone had visited Zareena's room on the day of the incident.
