Valentine's Day horror: Noida couple found shot dead in car, chilling details emerge in suspected murder-suicide

PTC News Desk: A man allegedly shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself inside a car in Noida on Valentine’s Day. Police recovered both bodies with gunshot injuries, along with a pistol and cartridges from the vehicle. While preliminary findings suggest a case of murder-suicide, the man’s family has alleged that the couple may have been killed.

The deceased have been identified as Rekha (26), a resident of Sector 58, Noida, and Sumit (32), from Trilokpuri in Delhi.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Sector 39 police station in Noida. Local residents reported hearing gunshots and informed the authorities. When police arrived, they found a man and a woman unconscious inside a locked car. The vehicle was secured, and the area was cordoned off for forensic examination. Officials said both individuals had been reported missing by their families a day earlier. The couple had reportedly been in a relationship for nearly 15 years, with both families aware of it.

According to police, the car was locked from the inside and a pistol was found in Sumit’s hand. Forensic experts collected evidence from the scene, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.

Sources said Sumit had allegedly left a WhatsApp message referring to his long relationship with Rekha and expressing distress over her reported decision to marry someone else. In the message, he claimed he was ending his life because he felt betrayed.

However, Sumit’s family has questioned the initial police assessment, alleging the possibility of foul play. They claimed the couple had faced taunts over caste differences and that they had received threatening calls, including some from international numbers, warning of police action.
