Vande Bharat trains to get 14-minute clean-up; know how will it work
14-minute clean-up for Vande Bharat trains: Inspired by Japan's bullet train model, the Indian Railways will introduce a '14-minute clean-up' concept for Vande Bharat trains from October 1. The goal is to improve punctuality as well as turnaround time.
The initiative will begin with the Vande Bharat trains, with 3-4 crew members deployed in each coach to clean it in 14 minutes. When compared to the standard three-hour cleaning time, this is a huge improvement.
The railways are now considering a more efficient process in which three to four cleaning staff each coach would work in sync to ensure that the train is clean and ready in just 14 minutes. The new way will make sure there is no waste of effort and the process is 100% efficient.
Indian Railways is striving to consistently raise the bar and meet the world's highest standards and hence draws inspiration from outstanding techniques implemented around the world.
Surprisingly, Japan's "7-minute miracle" of cleaning its bullet trains is well-known around the world. Bullet trains in Japan have a short turnaround time, and Japan is famed for its train service punctuality.
Japan's cleaning staff performs the "miracle" of cleaning a bullet train in just 7 minutes.
‘14-minute miracle’ will be kicked off at 29 railway stations
The cleanliness drive will begin at 29 railway stations across India, including Delhi, Varanasi, Nagpur, Gandhinagar capital, Mysore, CSMT, Kasaragod, Guwahati, Lucknow, Howrah, Chennai Egmore, and others.
