Weather forecasters anticipate widespread moderate to heavy rainfall with thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir until Sunday due to monsoon winds and western disturbances.
For today and tomorrow, the meteorological department in Himachal has upped the "orange" alert to "red" for isolated spells of extremely heavy rainfall in the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur.
Isolated spells of extremely heavy rain are anticipated in Shimla, Sirmaur, and Solan districts, with isolated spells of heavy rain possible in Lahaul and Spiti.
