PTC Web Desk: A video of trekkers doing sit-ups as punishment has gone viral on social media. According to tweets and various sources, a group of tourists was made to do sit-ups as a form of punishment by the Railway Police.
This incident took place as the tourists had disembarked from the train before the designated station and crossed railway tracks, which is prohibited according to the rules. Dudhsagar Falls is a popular tourist destination during the monsoon season, offering a scenic view of a waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.

Despite the popularity of trekking to Dudhsagar Falls in Goa during the monsoon season, the Goa Police, forest department, and the Railways have implemented regulations prohibiting such activities. These measures were put in place due to heavy rainfall and increased risk of accidents.
Recently, the Goa Government enforced a ban on visiting waterfalls in the state after two individuals drowned at Mainapi waterfall in Sanguem taluka. The South Western Railway also recently took to social media advising people against walking along the railway tracks.
"We urge you to savour the beauty of Dudhsagar Falls from within your coach. Walking on/along tracks not only endangers your own safety, but is also an offence under sections 147, 159 of Railway Act. It can also endanger safety of trains," it tweeted.
De-boarding at Dudhsagar or any other station along the Braganza Ghat is prohibited. All passengers are requested to co-operate & follow rules laid down for your own safety. (2/2) — South Western Railway (@SWRRLY) July 16, 2023
