Agra, November 13: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh's Agra, five individuals, including four men, have been apprehended in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman. The distressing incident came to light through disturbing videos circulated online, depicting the survivor in a visibly distressed state, narrating the harrowing ordeal.

The survivor, identified as an employee of a guest house with nearly 18 months of service, can be seen crying and hyperventilating in the videos. In one clip, she pleads for help, mentioning her four young daughters and pointing to torn and stained clothes, revealing the brutality of the assault.

The survivor goes on to name her alleged assailants - Ritu, Riya, Lalita, Sonu, and Vikram - accusing them of involvement in sex work and blackmail. Another video captures the victim being forcibly dragged out of a room by an unidentified man, attempting to muffle her screams.

According to the police, the survivor had been coerced into engaging in sex work for additional income. On the night of the incident, she was allegedly lured to the guest house where she was forcefully subjected to sexual acts against her will. Upon attempting to leave, the guest house owners purportedly ordered her to stay overnight, leading to physical assaults when she resisted.

Mohit Sharma, the in-charge of the Basai Police Station, stated, "She narrated the whole incident to us about being raped and said she was beaten by the accused. They had also broken a glass bottle on her head. She was also forced to drink alcohol." The survivor further claimed that the assailants had created an objectionable video, which they used for blackmail.

Agra Sadar ACP Archana Singh confirmed that a case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code based on the victim's account. Medical examinations are underway, and legal actions are being pursued against the accused, who face charges of rape, assault, and other pertinent offenses. The case highlights the urgent need for addressing the issue of sexual violence and ensuring justice for survivors.
