'Your minister admitted to...': India rips Pakistan over Pahalgam attack at United Nations
PTC News Desk: India raised its strong concern over the horrific Pahalgam massacre at the United Nations on Monday while calling out Pakistan for sponsoring cross-border terrorism and destablising region. The attack orchestrated in the valled is one of the deadliest attack since Paulwama in 2019.
India's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Yojna Patel, condemned terrorism "in all its forms" and, without naming Pakistan, shredded its delegation for peddling propaganda and levelling baseless allegations against India.
"The whole world has heard Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif admitting and confessing Pakistan’s history of supporting, training and funding terror organisations," the envoy said.
"This open confession surprises no one and exposes Pakistan as a rogue state fuelling global terrorism and destabilising the region," Patel said, exercising India's Right of Reply.
"The world can no longer turn a blind eye," she added.
Earlier, the United Nations Security Council had condemned the Pahalgam attack in the 'strongest message' asserting that those responsible must be held accountable.
"They stressed that those responsible for these killings should be held accountable, and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with all relevant authorities in this regard," the statement read.
