YouTuber, 20, dies by suicide in Hyderabad apartment hours after sending mother 'I love you' text
PTC News Desk: A 20-year-old student, Bonu Komali, died by suicide at her rented flat in Hyderabad's Manikonda on Monday, allegedly due to emotional distress related to a failed relationship.
According to Raidurgam Police, Komali was originally from Gajuwaka and was studying BSc first year at a private college in Maisammaguda. She had been living in a flat in LIG Chitrapuri Colony, Manikonda, for the past 11 months.
Police said she sent a message to her mother, B Satya Varalakshmi, at 1:34am on February 23, saying, “I love you mummy so much. Take care. Take good care of my younger brother.” Her mother, who works in Kuwait, tried calling her several times but the phone was switched off. She then asked Komali’s friend to check on her.
When the friend reached the flat and got no response, she informed neighbours and called the police. Officers broke open the door and found Komali hanging from the ceiling fan, police said.
Her mother told police that Komali had attempted suicide about six months earlier. During the investigation, police recovered a diary in which Komali wrote about her feelings and her three-year-long one-sided love for a 27-year-old software employee. Police said she had expressed her feelings to him again shortly before her death, but he told her he was not interested and had asked her not to contact him.
