Prime Minister Narendra Modi to embark on a 5-day visit to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 5-days trip will visit Uganda, Rwanda and South Africa. PM Modi will also attend the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit in South Africa. The PM will first arrive in Rwanda on Monday, as per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). There, he will visit the Genocide memorial and take part in an event “Girinka”, which means one cow per family to make milk and other dairy products. He will then attend the BRICS summit in South Africa. He will be in South Africa from July 25 to July 27 before he finally returns to India. In South Africa, the prime minister will also hold bilateral meetings with the BRICS countries as well as South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. "India shares close, warm and friendly relations with Africa which are cemented by robust development partnership and a large presence of the Indian diaspora. A number of agreements and MoUs in the areas of defence, trade, culture, agriculture and dairy cooperation are scheduled to be signed during the visit," the MEA said in a statement. "Africa has been the top priority of India's Foreign Policy. The visit of the Prime Minister to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa will further strengthen our relations with the African continent," the statement read.-
