Actress Gautami Tadimalla ends 25-year BJP association alleging betrayal and deception

PTC Web Desk: In a significant development, veteran actress Gautami Tadimalla on Monday ended her 25-year association with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She cited multiple reasons for her decision, including alleged support from a faction of the party to an individual who had purportedly deceived her.

In her statement, which  Gautami Tadimalla shared on her social media account, she revealed that despite the BJP's last-minute withdrawal of their promise to nominate her for the 2021 Assembly polls in the state, she had remained steadfast in her commitment to the party. Nevertheless, she expressed her deep disillusionment and a heavy heart as she tendered her resignation from the party, tagging prominent BJP figures, including national president JP Nadda and party's Tamil Nadu chief K. Annamalai.

Gautami accused a specific individual of defrauding her of her money, property, and important documents. She went on to assert that not only did she lack support from the party and its leaders, but she also discovered that several of them were actively assisting and endorsing the very person who had betrayed her trust and swindled her life's savings. She mentioned that she had already filed complaints with the police regarding this deception and expressed hope that Chief Minister MK Stalin and the legal system would ensure that justice is served.

Gautami recalled her assignment to oversee the development of the Rajapalayam constituency during the 2021 elections, with the assurance that she would be fielded as a candidate from there. Despite this pledge being revoked at the last moment, she remained faithful to the party, but she regretted that, after dedicating 25 years to the organisation, she found herself lacking support.

Furthermore, Gautami pointed out that several senior members of the party were allegedly "enabling" the individual who had defrauded her, allowing him to evade justice and remain in hiding for the past 40 days despite the filing of FIRs.

She conveyed her resignation "with great pain and sorrow", but emphasised her firm determination in making this decision.
