BJP gears up for 2024 General Election, appoints 4 state unit presidents
PTC Web Desk: Gearing up for the 2024 General Election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday appointed four state unit chiefs.
In a notification, the BJP announced the appointment of Daggubati Purandeswari as Andhra Pradesh BJP chief, G. Kishan Reddy as president of Telangana BJP unit, Babulal Marandi as Jharkhand BJP chief and Sunil Jakhar as chief of Punjab unit of the BJP.
In a statement, BJP national president JP Nadda also appointed Etela Rajender, MLA and former Minister of Telangana, as chairman of the election management committee of the Telangana BJP for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Sunil Jakhar has replaced Ashwani Sharma as the Punjab BJP chief.

Daggubati Purandeswari, who has been appointed Andhra Pradesh BJP president, is the daughter of Telugu Desam Party founder and former AP Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.
It is learnt that the BJP has called a meeting of all state presidents, state general secretaries, and state in charges on July 7. The meeting is expected to be presided over by BJP chiefJP Nadda and national general secretary BL Santosh.
