Jaipur: Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi shot dead, assailants at large

Jaipur, December 5: Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, president of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jaipur on Tuesday. Shortly afterward, Rohit Godara, a member of the infamous gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, took responsibility for the murder.  The entire indent was recorded on a CCTV camera installed in the room.

The incident took place in the Pink City's Shyam Nagar area. "As per initial reports, four people entered a house where Gogamedi was present and opened fire at him. One of Gogamedi's security personnel and another person were injured in the firing," Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra said.

Following the attack, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi of the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena was immediately rushed to the hospital, but was declared brought dead. Ajit Singh, who was present with Gogamedi during the assault, sustained severe injuries, as confirmed by officials. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Who is 
Rohit Godara?

Rohit Godara is a notorious criminal from Rajasthan who has evaded the authorities in India and has a significant criminal record. He hails from Bikaner and has been involved in numerous serious cases since 2010, amassing more than 32 charges against him.

Known for his connections to the underworld, Rohit Godara has allegedly extorted large sums of money from various businessmen in Rajasthan, demanding amounts ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 17 crore.

Godara gained attention when he claimed responsibility for the killing of Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in a detailed Facebook post shortly after the attack. He has also been linked to other criminal activities, such as orchestrating the murder of gangster Raju Theth in Sikar, which he openly declared on social media. According to Godara, this act was in retaliation for the deaths of gangsters Anandpal Singh and Balveer Banuda.

Additionally, Godara's name has been associated with Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case. He has been reported to have worked for gangs led by Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, and he fled to Dubai from Delhi in June 2022 using a fake passport. Currently, a red corner notice has been issued against him, and it is believed that he is residing in Canada to avoid arrest by the Indian authorities.
