BJP accuses Opposition of spreading anarchy over Bihar voter roll row

The BJP hit out at opposition parties for protesting against the voter roll revision in Bihar and alleging “vote theft” in previous elections, accusing them of trying to foment “anarchy” in the country.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “vote theft” charge against the BJP and the Election Commission as “a lie,” saying the Congress resorts to such claims because it has no other issues to raise.

Pradhan alleged the opposition’s agitation was a calculated bid to destabilise the nation. “Congress and other opposition parties want to create anarchy in the country,” he said, further accusing Gandhi of echoing the rhetoric of “big forces” seeking to destroy Indian democracy.

He claimed the Congress and its allies were making baseless allegations about the electoral process and the voter roll revision in Bihar to question the Election Commission’s credibility and allegedly facilitate “intruders” in becoming voters.
