PTC Web Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced protests in Bihar’s Darbhanga on Friday when workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) showed black flags during his Voter Adhikar Yatra. The workers objected to alleged derogatory remarks directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a recent Mahagathbandhan event in the city.

According to visuals shared by ANI, BJYM members not only waved black flags but also tried to climb onto the Congress leader’s vehicle. In response, the Leader of Opposition gestured for the protesters to approach him and was later seen offering them candies in a bid to defuse tension.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Arrah, where he intensified his attack on the BJP and the Election Commission, accusing them of “vote theft” during the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. He described the exercise as an “assault on the Constitution and democracy” and warned that the movement in Bihar would evolve into a nationwide campaign against electoral malpractice.

“Voting is the right of Dalits, minorities, and women, but the Narendra Modi government is engaged in stealing votes to win elections,” Rahul Gandhi alleged. He further claimed that the ruling NDA had already manipulated votes in Maharashtra and other states, vowing that the Congress would not allow such practices in Bihar.

Meanwhile, in Patna, tensions flared between the BJP and Congress supporters after a viral video showed a person using abusive language against PM Modi in Darbhanga. The incident occurred shortly after Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav departed the rally venue.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Rizvi alias Raza, was later arrested from Singhwara locality in Darbhanga. The remarks drew sharp criticism from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi should apologise for abuses hurled at the Prime Minister and his late mother,” Shah said in Guwahati.
