Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba among 26 sworn in as Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel reshuffles Cabinet
PTC Web Desk: The Gujarat Government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, unveiled a new 26-member Cabinet on Friday, featuring several new faces, including cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, Rivaba Jadeja. The reshuffle follows the resignation of the entire previous Cabinet, except for the CM, on Thursday.
Alongside Rivaba Jadeja, the new council includes Swaroopji Thakor, Pravenkumar Mali, Rushikesh Patel, Darshna Vaghela, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Arjun Modhwadia, Parshottam Solanki, Jitendra Waghani, Praful Pansheriya, Harsh Sanghvi, and Kanubhai Desai, among others.
Party insiders described the move as a “strategic reset” ahead of the upcoming local body elections and the 2027 Gujarat Assembly polls. According to BJP sources, all ministers were directed to step down by Thursday afternoon to allow the leadership to reconstitute the Cabinet. The outgoing ministers have begun vacating their offices.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met Governor Acharya Devvrat on Thursday evening to submit the list of new ministers. The swearing-in ceremony for the new Cabinet is scheduled for Friday noon in Gandhinagar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda are expected to attend the event, along with all BJP MLAs from the state.
This marks the first major Cabinet reshuffle since Bhupendra Patel succeeded Vijay Rupani as CM in 2021. Patel went on to lead the BJP to a decisive victory in the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections.
