PTC Web Desk: Sri Fatehgarh Sahib witnessed solemn and spiritually charged gatherings on the occasion of Shaheedi Jor Mel, commemorating the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Addressing the congregation, Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, paid tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of the younger Sahibzadas, describing it as a defining chapter not only in Sikh history but also in the collective conscience of humanity.

He said the Sahibzadas’ steadfast commitment to faith and truth at such a tender age, even in the face of extreme brutality, remains a powerful source of inspiration for present and future generations. Their martyrdom, he added, stands as a timeless symbol of courage, sacrifice and moral strength.

During his address, the acting Jathedar appealed to the Punjab government and state administration to ensure that liquor vends remain closed across Punjab on the shaheedi days of the younger Sahibzadas. He stressed that these days are meant for mourning, reflection and reverence, and should not be associated with intoxication or celebratory activities.

Calling for concrete steps towards building a drug-free society, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj urged the youth to follow the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and focus on character building and ethical living.
