ANTF Ludhiana seizes heroin worth Rs 10.8 crore in major anti-drug operation
PTC Web Desk: In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ludhiana Range has seized 2 kg 177 gram of heroin in three separate cases. According to officials, the recovered contraband is valued at approximately Rs 10.8 crore in the international market.
Providing details of the operations, DSP Ajay Verma said in the first case, the ANTF team arrested three accused from Amritsar, recovering 603 gram of heroin and a motorcycle from their possession. The trio was allegedly involved in transporting narcotics from Amritsar. Their criminal background and supply network are currently under investigation.
In the second case, a Batala resident was arrested with 524 gram of heroin along with a motorcycle.
Similarly, in the third operation, the ANTF apprehended another motorcycle-borne suspect and recovered nearly 1 kg 50 gram of heroin.
DSP Verma urged the youth to stay away from drugs and contribute toward building a healthier society. He added that the ANTF remains committed to intensifying its crackdown on drug networks across Punjab.
