Bathinda gas cylinder explosion: 2 children killed in Punjab slum fire

Bathinda gas cylinder explosion: A gas cylinder explosion killed two children and seriously injured another in Bathinda, Punjab. According to officials, following the explosion, a fire broke out in the slum in the early hours of Tuesday.

Bathinda Municipal Commissioner Rahul informed that two children aged six and seven years died and another was injured in a fire caused by the explosion of LPG gas cylinders. The incident took place in a slum in Bathinda.


According to the official, the fire spread to ten slums in the Oriya Colony of Bathinda, Punjab. "Four other cylinders nearby exploded shortly after the blast," the Municipal Commissioner added.

He added that the administration has prepared a report on the incident and that the affected families will receive compensation and financial assistance from the relief fund.

As an alternative, the victim families were moved to a night shelter.

Officials were conducting further investigations into the incident.
