PTC Web Desk: In a late-night joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Fazilka, seized a massive cache of weapons and ammunition in Theh Kalandar village of Fazilka district, Punjab, foiling what officials described as a Pakistan-backed terror smuggling attempt. Two suspected smugglers were arrested during the raid and weapons and ammunition seized.

Officials confirmed that the teams recovered 16 pistols, 38 magazines, 1,847 live rounds, and a motorcycle from the site. The arrested individuals have been identified as residents of Jhok Dipulana and Mahatam Nagar villages in Fazilka.

According to the BSF, the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs developed by its intelligence wing in coordination with CIA Fazilka. The tip-off indicated a likely cross-border smuggling attempt, prompting security forces to conduct a carefully planned raid.

In an official statement, the BSF termed the seizure a major breakthrough against Pakistan-sponsored narco-terror networks, saying it had successfully neutralized a potential national security threat.

“This significant operation decimated Pakistan’s larger narco-terror plot, effectively dismantling a potential threat to national security,” the BSF said.
