Businessman kidnapping case: 2 accused killed, cop injured during cross-firing with police in Ludhiana
Businessman kidnapping case: Two persons, accused in the kidnapping and ransom case of hosiery businessman Sambhav Jain, were killed during a crossfire exchanged with the Ludhiana police in the Tibba area on Wednesday.
Sambhav Jain, a well-known businessman, was kidnapped at gunpoint from Bahadurke Road in his car on November 17. The accused shot at him and demanded a ransom from his family.
However, after the family informed the police, the accused dropped Jain near Viswakarma Chowk and drove away in his car.
Aside from that, the ASI was injured in the crossfire and was rushed to the hospital.
"We have already apprehended four of the accused," said Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal, confirming the development.
"The police were tracing the other accused. A police team was behind them when near Tibba road the accused and police team exchanged fires," he said.
