Chandigarh: Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior School students celebrate Gurpurab with gurdwara visit
PTC Web Desk: Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior School, Sector 33, Chandigarh, known for its efforts to promote cultural diversity and inclusivity, organised a special event for children on Monday to mark Gurpurab celebrations. The students from Pre-Nursery to Class V, accompanied by school staff, visited the Sector 34 gurdwara. The visit provided students with a hands-on experience of Sikh traditions, emphasising the significance of community service and humility.
The students participated in 'Langar Sewa'. They were served langar and witnessed serene Shabad Kirtan. The initiative aimed to instill the values of harmony, inclusiveness, and respect for diverse traditions among the young learners.
Gurpurab, observed on November 15 this year, celebrates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Through this visit, the school reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage among its students.
