Family confirms Amritpal Singh has no plans to contest Lok Sabha elections for now

PTC Web Desk: Tarsem Singh, father of Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh, who is lodged at Dibrugarh jail in Assam, has confirmed that his son has no plans to contest the  upcoming Lok Sabha elections for now. He confirmed this to PTC News over the call. 



He said a meeting had been scheduled with Amritpal Singh tomorrow and he along with his uncle Sukhchain Singh would be meeting him at Dibrugarh jail in Assam. Amritpal's wife, Kirandeep Kaur, also met him in jail on Tuesday. At the time, there was no indication of any discussion regarding his participation in the Lok Sabha elections.


Earlier, Amritpal Singh's advocate Rajdev Singh Khalsa had dropped a hint on Amritpal Singh's decision to contest the elections. However, his family has stated that Amritpal Singh had no plans to contest the election. However, any confirmation regarding their decision would be provided by tomorrow.

Notably, several panchayats and Sikh organisations in the area have appealed to Amritpal Singh to contest the elections.
