Jalandhar Court Complex gets bomb threat: A bomb threat targeting the District Administrative and Judicial Complex in Jalandhar triggered a major security check on Monday. Police teams, dog squads and anti-sabotage units were immediately pressed into service.
Police personnel thoroughly inspected the court complex before allowing visitors and staff to enter the building. Despite the installation of metal detectors at entry points, officials carried out manual checks as an additional precautionary measure.
According to police sources, no suspicious object had been recovered during the search operation till the filing of this report. Court proceedings and routine administrative work, however, continued without disruption and the building was not evacuated.
It is learnt police teams checked vehicles and inspected belongings of people entering the premises, but nothing objectionable was found.
The police said they were treating the matter seriously, adding that such threats are often intended to create panic and disturb public order.
Police officials maintained that security arrangements at the court complex had already been strengthened and that strict checking of visitors would continue as part of precautionary measures.
The police are investigating the origin of the threat.
