Kotkapura firing case: HC grants interim bail to SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal
Chandigarh, March 21: In a major relief to SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday granted interim bail to SAD chief in 2015 Kotkapura firing case.
Notably, just two days after a Faridkot court did not provide any relief to party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, the former deputy CM today moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court for anticipatory bail in the Kotkapura police firing case.

On February 25, the SIT investigating the 2015 Kotkapura police firing filed a chargesheet in the Faridkot court, which included the names of Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal, the then Chief Minister and Deputy CM of Punjab, respectively.
In the chargesheet, Parkash Singh Badal has been accused of facilitating the execution of the conspiracy. On the other hand, Sukhbir Singh Badal, who held the home portfolio in 2015 when the Kotkapura filing incident took place, has accused political opponents of trying target the Badal family.
