Outrage in Ludhiana after woman commits sacrilege by removing all clothes at gurdwara
PTC Web Desk: A shocking incident of sacrilege has come to light at a gurdwara sahib at Jugiana village, under the Sahnewal constituency of Ludhiana. According to reports, a woman, identified as Parkash Kaur, allegedly removed her clothes in front of Guru Granth Sahib, sparking outrage among devotees present there.
Eyewitnesses said the woman first engaged in an argument inside the gurdwara before tearing off her clothes. Despite repeated attempts by other women devotees to stop her, she continued to create a disturbance. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing strong condemnation from Sikh organisations and the wider community.
Following the uproar, an FIR has been registered against the woman for sacrilege. Police officials confirmed that she will be arrested soon.
Reacting to the incident, a Sikh leader said such acts continued to occur because those accused of sacrilege were not given strict punishment under existing laws. He pointed out that many offenders managed to secure bail within months, which emboldens others to repeat such offenses. “Yesterday’s act has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. The Punjab Government talks about strict laws against sacrilege, but in reality, it hesitates to take firm action against the accused,” he added.
The SHO of the Sahnewal police station assured that swift action will be taken, and the accused will be arrested soon.
