Police have rescued the child who is fortunately in a sound condition while an accused has been shot dead as the joint teams of Patiala and Khanna cracked the case.

Ludhiana kidnapping case: Punjab police rescue child, 1 suspect shot dead in encounter

PTC News Desk: In a significant development Punjab police has cracked the Ludhiana kidnapping case where a six-year old boy was allegedly kidnapped by two bike-borne suspects when he was playing outside his residence in Seehan Daud. 


An encounter took place near Mandour village on Nabha road in Patiala. Police have rescued the child who is fortunately in a sound condition while an accused has been shot dead as the joint teams of Patiala and Khanna cracked the case.

“The accused were traced to be travelling near Patiala. When the teams tried to nab the accused, they opened fire on the police,” a senior police officer said.

According to the reports, exchange of fire from both the sides took place on a large scale. Around 25-30 rounds were fired during which one kidnapper was killed in retaliation while the other sustained injuries. Three police officials of Patiala police have also sustained injuries.
