Morinda sacrilege accused Jasvir Singh alias Jassi dies
Chandigarh, May 1: Morinda sacrilege accused Jasvir Singh alias Jassi has died, police sources informed on Monday.
According to police sources, Jasvir Singh complained of chest pain and difficulty in breathing after which he was rushed to civil hospital in Mansa.
Last week, on Saturday, a Ropar court sent Jasvir Singh Jassi to 14-day judicial custody. He was produced in the court after spending four days in police remand.
Notably, Jasvir Singh allegedly committed sacrilege on Monday at Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib by pushing at the Shri Guru Granth Sahib. He also hit the two granthis seated near the holy scripture.
The CCTV footage of the incident also went viral on social media.
