Punjab: Amritsar police arrest 5 operatives linked with BKI; hand grenade, weapons recovered
PTC News Desk: The Punjab police on Wednesday have arrested 5 operatives linked with Babbar Khalsa International module in Amritsar. The police have also recovered a hand grenade and illegal weapons from their possession.
The Director General of Police, Punjab Gaurav Yadav took to his social media and shared the information about the arrest. he said that the accused were plotting to target the police establishments with the grenades.
The accused have been identified as Naresh Kumar alias Babbu, Abhinav Bhagat alias Abhi, Ajay Kumar alias Ajju, Sunny Kumar, and one juvenile.

"In a major breakthrough against terror networks backed by ISI, Amritsar Commissionerate Police apprehends five operatives of the foreign-based Gangster Jiwan Fauji-led BKI module," DGP Gaurav Yadav said.
"The accused were actively plotting to target police establishments with grenades," he further added.
"During a follow-up recovery operation, accused Ajay Kumar attempted to escape by snatching a service weapon and opening fire at the police team. He was injured in a brief encounter and is currently under medical care," DGP said.
An FIR has been registered at the Islamabad Police Station and further investigation is underway to dismantle the entire network.
