Punjab: BKU Ekta Ugrahan announces closure of all tolls plazas on January 5
Chandigarh, December 29: The Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) has announced to shut all tolls plazas in Punjab from 12 noon to 3 pm on on January 5. The decision has been taken while agreeing to a demand letter of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee.
The main demands of the sangharsh committee included farm loan waiver, remunerative price of crops and compensation for crop damage.

State Secretary of the BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) Shingara Singh Mann said 18 tolls of Punjab had already been made free till January 15 by the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee. Citing the example of Zira factory row, he alleged that the Punjab Government had also been towing the line of Centre and previous government and favouring corporate houses.
He said all toll plazas in Punjab would be made free on January 5 in support of demands of the the Kisan Mazdoor or Sangharsh Committee.

The BKU Ekta Ugrahan has appealed to farmers to reach inlarge numbers to join the protest.

Amritsar: Kathunangal, Mananwala and Attari Toll Plaza
Pathankot: Dinanagar Toll Plaza
Kapurthala: Dhilwan Toll Plaza
Moga: Baghapurana Toll Plaza
Tarn Taran: Usma, Manan Toll Plaza.
Hoshiarpur: Mukerian, Chilang, Chabbewal, Mansar and Gaddiwala toll plazas
Ferozepur: Gidarpindi and Ferozeshah Toll Plaza
Jalandhar: Chakbahmanian Toll Plaza
Fazilka: The Kalandar and Mamojae Toll Plaza
