Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann launches flying squad to ensure quality of link roads across state

PTC Web Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced the formation of a special CM Flying Squad to monitor and ensure the quality of link roads being constructed and repaired across the state.

The newly formed squad will comprise senior officials from the Punjab Mandi Board and the Public Works Department (PWD). The initiative aims to bring greater transparency and accountability in the execution of ongoing and upcoming road projects.

Superintending Engineers Davinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Manpreet Singh Dua, and Rajiv Saini have been appointed to oversee the quality of construction work across the three main regions of Punjab — Malwa, Majha, and Doaba.

The Chief Minister recently launched an extensive repair project covering 19,492 km of link roads, beginning from Tarn Taran. The state government has allocated Rs 3,425 crore for this large-scale initiative to improve rural connectivity and road safety.

These newly constituted flying squads will carry out regular inspections to assess the quality of road construction and maintenance. Their objective is to detect irregularities, ensure compliance with technical standards, and maintain transparency in infrastructure development across Punjab.
