PTC Web Desk: A shocking incident took place at the Amritsar bus stand where a bus employee was shot dead during a heated argument. According to the information received, some unidentified men fired multiple shots at the employee, causing chaos at the busy bus terminal.

Witnesses said that the dispute began between staff members of two private buses over who would pick up passengers first from the stand. The argument continued for several minutes before one of the employees reportedly took out a weapon and opened fire.


The victim, identified as Makhan Singh, a conductor working with Kahlon Bus Service, was hit by around four bullets. He collapsed on the spot. He was rushed to a private hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.

Following the firing, panic spread among passengers and many people started running to save themselves. The police reached the spot immediately and cordoned off the area. Officials recovered six empty bullet shells from the scene. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is being examined to identify the shooter and trace his movements.

ACP Gagandeep Singh confirmed that the initial investigation shows the argument was related to bus timing and picking up passengers. The accused employee escaped after the firing, and the police have launched a search to arrest him. The investigation is underway.
