Punjab govt announces Municipal Corporation polls in 9 cities before May 31
Punjab MC elections 2026: The Punjab Government has issued a notification announcing that elections for nine Municipal Corporations in the state will be completed before May 31, 2026.
According to the notification issued by the Department of Local Government under Section 7-A of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, the Governor of Punjab has directed the completion of the election process within the stipulated timeline.
The notification, issued on Monday, includes the following Municipal Corporations:
Batala (Gurdaspur)
Pathankot (Pathankot)
Kapurthala (Kapurthala)
Hoshiarpur (Hoshiarpur)
SAS Nagar (Mohali)
Bathinda (Bathinda)
Abohar (Fazilka)
Moga (Moga)
Barnala (Barnala)
