Punjab declares two days of public holidays in October | Check Details
PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Government has announced public holidays on October 2 (Wednesday) and October 3 (Thursday) in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, and Navratri Kalash Sthapana. Due to these celebrations, schools, banks, and government offices will remain closed on both days.
October is filled with several major festivals, including Durga Ashtami, Dussehra, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, and Diwali. The first public holiday in October will be on October 2, marking Gandhi Jayanti, when all banks, government offices, schools, and colleges across the state will be closed. In Punjab and Rajasthan, an additional holiday will be observed on October 3 for Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, resulting in back-to-back closures for schools, colleges, and banks at the start of the month.
Both of these holidays have been included in the government's annual list of official holidays for the year.
