Punjab revises school timings amid cold wave conditions, check details
Punjab school timings: With a thick blanket of fog engulfing Punjab, the state government revised timings of government, aided, affiliated and private schools.
As per the recent orders, the school to function from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. The change will remain in effect from December 4 to 23, 2023.
The decision has been taken in view of security of both children and teachers. Dense fog which engulfed Punjab reduced visibility in most parts of Punjab and affected vehicular movement.
Meanwhile, Education Minister of Punjab, Harjot Singh Bains took to his X handle (former Twitter) and said, In view of the health and safety of students and teachers due to dense fog and weather change in some parts of the state, the opening time of all government/aided/recognized and private schools in the state is 9:30 am. These orders will be uniformly applicable to all primary/middle/high and senior secondary schools from Monday 04/12/2023 to 23/12/2023.” (Translated Version).

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog in Chandigarh and several parts of Punjab.
According to the weather department, dense fog is likely in parts of S.A.S Nagar, Mansa, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Bathinda, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, SBS Nagar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur.
