Punjab: Several injured after terrible collision between PRTC bus and tipper in Patiala
Punjab: In a terrible and devastating incident, several passengers were injured after a Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) bus collided with a tipper truck on the Kaithal-Cheeka-Patiala highway.
The dreadful incident unfolded on the highway near Jodi road and PRTC bus (PB-11CF-0829) was en-route to Cheeka from Patiala.
The head-on-head collision between PRTC bus and tipper truck led to significant damage to the front portion of the bus, trapping the conductor, Satnam Singh for an extended period.
Struggling against the wreckage, people managed to shatter the bus's windows to free the trapped passengers. Police swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Reports suggested that approximately 50 individuals were onboard the bus at the time of the collision.
The injured were promptly transported to Rajindra Hospital Patiala for urgent medical attention. Reports indicate that the bus conductor's condition is critical, underscoring the severity of the accident.
Eyewitnesses recounted that more than a dozen passengers also suffered injuries in the collision, further underscoring the scale of the tragedy. The exact circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation as authorities seek to determine the root cause of the accident.
