Punjab Special Assembly Session HIGHLIGHTS: Speaker passes resolution to declare Anandpur Sahib, Galiara around the Golden Temple in Amritsar and Talwandi Sabo as holy cities
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has tabled resolution in the assembly to declare Anandpur Sahib, Galiara around Golden Temple and Talwandi Sabo as holy cities in view of its historical significance. All kinds of shops selling non-veg items, alcohol, tobacco shall be closed.
Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal slammed Aam Aadmi Party over the special session convened at Sri Anandpur Sahib saying that why only the session has been called today and not otherwise. “Instead of creating drama, the Aam Aadmi Party should now start working,” he said.
“Why have they called the session only today? Either they should call the session regularly there…”
Leader of opposition Partap Singh Bajwa slammed BJP during the session over contentious Chandigarh bill that aimed to club the city with other union territories.

PTC News Desk: Punjab government is all set to convene its first assembly session outside Chandigarh at Sri Anandpur Sahib. For the first time in history, a special session of the Assembly will be held outside the building, at Anandpur Sahib.
The session is scheduled to take place on November 24 at Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial Park to commemorate 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has officially designated the park as the Assembly venue for the duration of the session.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has declared the entire memorial complex as the official precinct of a temporary Vidhan Sabha. All rules and procedures of the House will apply here as they do in the main Assembly building in Chandigarh.
