Punjab Vigilance raids Kharar realtor Ranjit Singh Gill's residence, hours after joining BJP
PTC News Desk: Hours after prominent Gilco realtor Ranjit Singh Gill joined BJP, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau officials raided his residence in Chandigarh and his office in Kharar on Saturday.
Gill was inducted into the BJP by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at his official residence here on Friday evening. While no official comment has been made by Ranjit Gill, his close associate confirmed the raids while describing them as 'political vendetta'.
According to the information, Gill was allegedly pressurised to join the Aam Aadmi Party leading to his sudden switch to the saffron party.
The realtor-turned politician had unsuccessfully contested from the Kharar Assembly seat in the 2017 and 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.
