Rahul Gandhi to visit flood-hit areas in Punjab on Monday, days after PM Modi's visit
PTC News Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Punjab on Monday and take stock of the situation in flood-affected areas across the state. His visit comes days after PM Modi's visit to the state.
Rahul Gandhi will visit flood-hit districts including Gurdaspur and engage with the residents who have been severely affected and to assess the damages caused by the ravaging floods.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi earlier expressed his concerns over the flood situation in Punjab and said that the news of the death of many people due to heavy rains and floods in many parts of the country including Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is extremely sad and worrying.
He further urged the central government to issue a high alert in flood affected areas and accelarate the relief work. He also urged the Congress workers to actively engage and cooperate in relief and rescue operations while helping the administration.
