SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal announces to provide wheat to 50,000 flood-affected families across Punjab
PTC News Desk: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday announced to provide wheat to 50,000 flood-affected families across Punjab.
Earlier he had announced providing 500 truckloads of fodder for cattle, seeds for sowing and diesel for essential areas. As assured by Sukhbir Singh Badal, 5 trucks of cattle fodder were sent to affected areas in Gurdaspur.
SAD President had also inaugurated flood relief center at Harinder Farms in Jalandhar, which acted as a nodal point for distributing relief materials in the flood-hit areas of the state.
Before announcing aid for the affected people, a master plan is being prepared on war footing by Shiromani Akali Dal to facilitate 500 trucks of fodder and machines in the affected areas of all the districts.
Several measures will also be undertaken actively by the volunteers of Shiromani Akali Dal in order to prevent malaria and other water-borne diseases caused by excessive flooding.
In addition to the relief material, on the directions of Sukhbir Singh Badal, several medical camps will also be established by Guru Ramdas Hospital, Amritsar. A team of 25 veterinarians will also be deployed to take care of the cattle and other animals.
The party workers will also extend their help in removing silt from the agricultural fields that has been accumulated due to floods.
