Sukhbir Singh Badal meets Bikram Majithia in Nabha jail, accuses AAP of political vendetta

PTC Web Desk: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal, along with Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Majithia's wife Ganieve Kaur, visited the incarcerated SAD leader at Nabha jail on Friday. A large number of senior party leaders also gathered outside the jail in solidarity.

Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Sukhbir Singh Badal accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of unprecedented harassment of political opponents. “Never before have we witnessed the kind of oppression that AAP is inflicting on people,” he said.

He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal had a long history of resilience, recalling that former CM Parkash Singh Badal had endured years in jail. “For Akali warriors, spending some time behind bars is not a big issue,” Sukhbir Singh Badal remarked.

Targeting Patiala SSP Varun Sharma, Sukhbir Singh Badal alleged that the police officer was acting as “AAP’s adopted son” and accused him of corruption. “Varun Sharma will soon have to answer for his misdeeds. I advise him to get his passport ready,” he warned.

Sukhbir Singh Badal further alleged that many AAP leaders would eventually flee abroad with passports, but the SAD would ensure their return to face justice.

Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has issued a stern warning to officials working under the influence of the AAP government, stating that only 300 days were left for the formation of the SAD government. He cautioned that strict action would be taken against those who misused their positions for political directions.

Sukhbir Singh Badal alleged that Patiala SSP Varun Sharma had been involved in bribery, claiming that evidence existed to prove the charges against him.
