Punjab elections 2022: Congress' first list of 86 candidates out; CM Channi to contest from Chamkaur Sahib, Navjot Sidhu from Amritsar East
With the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for February 14, 2022, the Congress on Saturday released its first list of 86 candidates.
According to information, the list of the candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections has been delayed owing to differences among members of the AICC-appointed screening committee, which held two back-to-back meetings on Friday in a bid to reach a consensus on certain seats.

Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will contest from his traditional seat Chamkaur Sahib.
Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has been fielded from Amritsar East Assembly constituency while Chairman of the Punjab Congress Manifesto Committee and Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Singh Bajwa will contest from Qadian.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been fielded from Dera Baba Nanak constituency and OP Saini from Amritsar Central. Lone Minister Brahm Singh Mohindra has been dropped, but his son has been given ticket from his seat.
Congress Campaign Committee chairman Sunil Jakhar has got success in getting ticket for his nephew Sandeep Jakhar from Abohar. Actor Sonu Sood's sister, Malvika Sood who recently joined the Congress will be contesting from Moga and singer Sidhu Moosewala from Mansa seat.
