PTC News Desk: Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) arrested Karamveer Singh, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Monday.

Karamveer Singh was brought to India after being deported from Canada. Police said he was working for a network linked to Lawrence Bishnoi.

According to Punjab Police, Karamveer had provided logistical support to Lawrence’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, while he was in the US. This allegedly included helping with accommodation, hiding places and other necessary arrangements.

His name came up during the Punjab Police investigation, following which a case was registered against him at the State Crime Police Station in SAS Nagar. The FIR includes relevant sections of the IPC, Arms Act and Passport Act.

The Punjab Police AGTF had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Karamveer Singh on September 3, 2026. After the LOC was issued, security agencies were alerted about his arrival in India.

Cases include murder and extortion

Police said Karamveer Singh has a criminal record and has faced cases related to murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, the Arms Act and other criminal activities.

Investigators are now trying to find out who Karamveer was in contact with and how he allegedly worked for the gangster network while staying abroad. Police are also gathering information about his contacts and other people linked to the network.

According to police, members of such networks often operate from foreign countries while using associates in India to carry out criminal activities.

The police are identifying such individuals and taking action against them. Karamveer Singh’s detention is being seen as an important part of this ongoing crackdown on overseas-based gangster networks.
