Reports regarding Punjab CM inviting Congress MPs, MLAs on lunch are FAKE
Punjab Congress Crisis: The Chief Minister's office on Monday issued a clarification that no luncheon meeting of Congress MPs and MLAs has been planned by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh as reported by several media reports. Following Navjot Singh Sidhu's appointment as Punjab Congress President amid crisis within the party, there were some media reports which stated that Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has planned a lunch meeting at a hotel in Panchkula where Congress MPs and MLAs have been invited. He said that no such lunch meet has been planned by Captain Amarinder Singh. "Some media reports suggesting that CM @capt_amarinder has invited @INCPunjab MLAs & MPs for lunch on July 21 are incorrect. He has not planned or sent invites for any such lunch," he tweeted. It may be recalled that there had been a rift in the state unit of the party, especially in between Punjab CM and Navjot Sidhu. On Sunday, Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi appointed Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Punjab Congress President. However, the rift within the party doesn't seem to have ended. -PTC News
