 As Uttar Pradesh runs into the second phase of assembly polls, the state's incumbent Chief Minister and BJP leader Yogi Adityanath said that his government named the Sainik School of Mainpuri after late General Bipin Rawat as a tribute to India's first CDS. "The double-engine BJP government has always honoured the brave Indian soldiers and their sacrifices," said the CM. "Our government has renamed the Sainpuri School at Mainpuri as 'General Bipin Rawat Sainik School' in the memory of the first CDS General Bipin Rawat Ji," said the BJP leader on Koo.

For the unversed, India's first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat was killed in a tragic Mi5V17 chopper crash.
