Shiromani Akali Dal walks out of Parliament; boycotts budget speech

Union Budget 2021: Today, Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to announce the Union Budget for the year 2021.

Shiromani Akali Dal has walked out of Parliament. Sukhbir Singh Badal said, "No point discussing budget without discussing farmers’ issue first."

Whereas, Punjab Congress MPs continue to sit in the parliament.

This year’s budget holds special importance because of the pandemic’s effect on the economy. Nirmala Sitharaman has stated that Union budget 2021 will be like “never before”.

On Saturday, Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi said that the budget session which began on January 29, will take up 38 legislative terms.

Union budget 2021 is the 3rd budget to be presented by Nirmala Sitharaman and 9th budget of the Modi government.
