New Delhi: Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Monday held a meeting to review the progress made by the Centre so far on the promises made to farmers, including setting up a panel on MSP, and deciding the future course of action. Several key decisions were taken at the meeting. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has decided that farmers will protest across the country on March 21 over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. SKM plans nationwide protests to press for MSP Act Meanwhile, the Morcha has also decided to part its ways with active leaders of the body who contested Punjab assembly elections 2022, the sources said on Monday. The list of such leaders comprises big names that made headlines when the protest was at its peak. SKM plans nationwide protests to press for MSP Act The list may include Balbir Singh Rajewal (BKU-Rajewal), Gurnam Singh Charuni, Kulwant Singh Sandhu (Jamhuri Kisan Sabha), Jangvir Singh Chauhan, Mukesh Chandra (Both from Doaba Kisan Sangharsh Committee), Prem Singh Banghu (Kul-Hind Kisan Sabha), Ruldu Singh Mansa (Punjab Kisan Sabha), and Buta Singh Shadipur (BKU-Shadipur). The farmers are seeking a law that guarantees assured minimum prices for major farm produce to protect their incomes.
