19th Asian Games at Hangzhou: A look at India's top performing gold medalists

19th Asian Games at Hangzhou: Every day, India is achieving new highs at the ongoing 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou making the country proud by clinching 41 medals, with 11 gold, 16 silver and 14 bronze medals. 

In a thrilling showdown and remarkable display of marksmanship, Indian athletes displayed unwavering determination and resilience, diving deep into their skillset to secure the victory and the gold medals 


The Indian hockey team also scripted history at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou's Gongshu Canal Sports Park, defeating archrival Pakistan 10-2 in a dream game. With this, team India secured their place in the semi-finals. 

This is India's largest-ever margin of victory over Pakistan in the rivalry's long history. India's previous record was a 7-1 win in the 2017 World League semi-final in London. This is also the biggest-ever triumph in any India-Pakistan match in history, with the Men in Green winning by the same margin twice in the 1980 Champions Trophy in Karachi and the 1982 Asian Games final in Delhi.

Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale (Tennis)

The Indian tennis duo Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale bagged the gold medal in the tennis mixed doubles at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Saturday. The Rohan-Rutuja duo struggled in the initial set of the match and lost the first set against Chinese Taipei's En-shuo Liang and Tsung-hao Huang by 6-2. The Indian pair made a stellar comeback and later dominated the game to beat their opponents in straight two sets by 3-6, and 4-10.


Saurav Ghosal, Abhay Singh, Mahesh Mangaonkar, Harinder Pal Sandhu (Squash)

With their fierce performance, the Indian men's squash team of Mahesh Mangaonkar, Saurav Ghosal and Abhay Singh clinched a gold medal after defeating Pakistan 2-1 in a high-intensity final of the ongoing 19th Asian Games on Saturday. 

Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil, and Aishwary Tomar (Shooting)

Team India's shooting trio, Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil, and Aishwary Tomar, clinched the first gold medal in the men's 10 m air rifle team shooting event at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou.


Sift Kaur Samra (Rifle)

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, 22-year-old Sift Kaur Samra, a student of Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, has etched her name in sporting history by clinching a gold medal in the women's 50-meter rifle 3-position event at the Asian Games. Sift's outstanding achievement not only made her family and hometown of Faridkot proud but also marked a significant milestone for Indian sports.

Palak Gulia (Shooting)

The 17 year old Palak secured a gold medal in the 10m air pistol women's individual final on Friday. With an individual score of 242.1 points, Palak not only won the gold, but also established a new Asian Games record in her category, going past China's record from 2018. 

Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul, Divyakriti and Sudipti Hajela (Dressage)

The Indian team of Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul, Divyakriti and Sudipti Hajela created history by clinching a historic gold medal after registering a huge score of 209.205 in the Team Dressage in the ongoing 19th Asian Games.

Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan (Shooting)

The Indian shooting trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan continued the country's dominating run at shooting as they captured a Gold medal in the women's 25 m pistol team event at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou.
