Gurnoor Brar controversy: What we know so far about alleged leaked chats and photos involving Indian bowler
PTC News Desk: Indian fast bowler Gurnoor Brar is currently trending on social media, but not because of his cricketing performance. Alleged private chats and personal photographs claiming to be linked to the cricketer have sparked widespread discussion online. However, none of these claims have been independently verified so far.
The controversy began over the weekend when screenshots of alleged private conversations and a semi-nude photograph started circulating on platforms such as X and Reddit. The 26-year-old fast bowler, who has been gradually making his mark in international cricket, suddenly found himself at the centre of a major social media controversy. Several users shared the posts and began making claims without any confirmed evidence.
As of November 3, Gurnoor Brar has not made any public statement regarding the controversy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also not issued any statement on the matter. There is no official confirmation linking the cricketer to the viral posts.
In the absence of verified information, it would be unfair to treat these anonymous claims and leaked material as facts.
Who is Gurnoor Brar ?
Putting the social media controversy aside, Gurnoor Brar is a rising fast bowler from Punjab who stands 6 feet 5 inches tall. He has been working towards establishing himself in the Indian cricket team.
He made his ODI debut for India against Afghanistan on June 13, 2026. His height and ability to generate extra bounce from the pitch have helped him attract attention. In his international appearances so far, he has taken 14 wickets at an average of 41.50. His debut performance included an impressive spell of 3 wickets for 27 runs.
At the IPL level, Brar was previously part of the Punjab Kings before being picked by the Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2025 season.
Why viral claims need to be treated with caution ?
In today's digital age, photographs and private conversations can easily be edited, manipulated or completely fabricated. A screenshot carrying someone's name or a photograph showing something familiar does not automatically prove that the content is genuine.
Therefore, unverified social media posts should not be treated as confirmed information, particularly when they involve someone's personal life and reputation.
